Illian Friendship

How many months before you call me friend?
How many more before I do the same?
So many seem to only know my name.
The many walls I build I’ll have to rend,
Before you enter in and call me friend.
Remember now that horse of Trojan fame,
Which entered during war claiming to tame
The fiery feud. But all they did was rend.
The moral is beware of those at gates,
Who seek to enter to your inner wall.
But only through the testing of those fates
Can friends be won and one be friends with all.
But here we stand two souls as men arrayed,
I’ll lay down arms and peace will then be made.
