A Year of Poems – Day 243

Tomorrow has a high hedged fence
With brush too thick to prune
It has sharp metal spires
And looks scary in the moon.

Yet through the tangled foliage
Comes smells dandelion sweet
and sounds that could be howling winds
or an orchestral suite.

It is a secret garden
With roses and with thorns
With trees that bloom with wonder
And skies that menace storms.

The undiscovered country
That cannot be explored
Except by sitting patiently
And walking through a door.
